Introduction to Pickleball is a two-hour beginner program that is ideal for players brand new to this sport or for those who have only been playing a short while. This clinic is not intended for anyone with a 2.5 or above skill rating.
CLINIC CONTENT: You will learn the basic fundamentals such as how to hold the paddle, the difference between an outside and indoor ball, court lines, rules, pickleball terminology, basic shots, dinking, serving, positioning and scoring. You will be able to play some practice mini games to incorporate what you learned along with attempting court strategy. INSTRUCTOR BIO: Jerold Blackburn is a current Professional Pickleball Registry coach, Board Member of Rivertown Pickleball of Southern Indiana and the Lead Instructor for this group. Jerold has been playing pickleball for the past 4 years. Jerold has a passion to instruct participants of all levels and ages, helping them develop stronger skills while building confidence and self-esteem. With his enthusiasm and energy for the game, participants can expect to improve skills and learn strategies to help motivate and encourage a better connection with pickleball. Jerold's goal is to make learning fun and enjoyable to ensure a fantastic experience. Jerold has taught more than 200 people how to play and improve their game.

SPACE: Limited to the first 12 individuals that register/pay (per clinic). We will reserve 3 courts for this event. No walk-ins. Each participant must register individually due to the waiver confirmation required. If you are attending with a spouse/friend, please notate it in the additional comments section at the end of the registration form. When registering, if the class says “not available” it is sold out. Please choose another date.

EQUIPMENT: Loaner paddles will be made available to those who do not have their own equipment. We will also furnish the outdoor balls. We have a water fountain/bottle filler available at the courts. Wear tennis/court shoes and comfortable clothing.
